Deoptimized web search and SEO

Web search is broken, and least in the Google engine.

I am an individual with fair knowledge of this domain. At the same time, I am not and will not play (SEO) games.

Kept a weblog (not "blog") since the 2000s. At first as experiment, handcrafted each HTML page. In the latter 2000s, the more optimal choice (if insecure) platform was WordPress. (Code in the same writable space as data was even-then a newbie mistake ... so backups.) Wanted static HTML generators, which matured later.

Once, the cost for SSL encryption was too much (2000s and prior). Best guidance was to put static resource on HTTP, and only critical bits on HTTPS. My weblog was not anything that required protection, so served everything on HTTP.

The world got weirder, and SSL became cheap (2010s and later). Best guidance was to encrypt everything. My webhost (DreamHost) made this easy, so moved my weblog over, with redirects from HTTP.

In the present, my weblog is generated as static HTML, served over HTTPS. This seems to confuse Google.

Google tells me they are not indexing my site. So Google does not include sites like mine, that play no games. In the battle between SEO-games and monetization, Google has forgot content. This explains much.
