Interstellar visitors

Only recently have we built instruments more capable of detecting many asteriod/comet-like objects on an automated basis. Of late, we are seeing more unusual objects with those new instruments.

== 19 October 2017 -- 'Oumuamua First there was Oumuamua. What we saw was a flickering reddish pixel, on a hyperbolic orbit. That was and is all we know.

From the pattern of reflected light, the object might be oblong. The path of the object was far outside the plane on which the planets orbit. All the rest is speculation.

By the time we saw Oumuamua, the object was on the way out of our Solar System, with no chance of any nearer look. oumuamua orbit
