My grandfather had a small business selling used cars in a small town in Nebraska. This used car dealer didn't conform to the sterotype. He only sold cars in good condition at a fair price. He would take back a car if it caused trouble.
Over the years this paid off, as his customers came to trust him implicitly. Quality was never an issue for the buyer, so buying a car from my grandfather was always an easy decision.
Now he never got rich doing business this way, and this model might not work outside of a small town, but I have always liked this story.
